It's more than an addiction..it's a lifestyle

I have been updating my other blog more than this one, but I've been so focused on updating my etsy on a daily basis. So I've decided to actually take the time to update my personal blog now :) Although I like keeping myself busy, I know I need to give myself some more "me" time to relax & clear my mind to gain back some of my sanity haha! I have been focused on my new year's resolutions and so far I have been doing really well sticking to my resolutions for 2010, which is a good thing. I believe if I list it for everyone to see, for some reason it usually doesn't get accomplished, so I think keeping it to myself is a good way to keep me motivated everyday.

Anyway, I went to the Manhattan Vintage Show on Friday and of course I did not leave empty handed. I went to all of my favorite booths and even purchased two dresses from one of my favorite local vintage stores, Another Man's Treasure, which I occasionally go to for most of my vintage purchases :) Here are all of the vintage treasures I got for myself, I can't wait to wear them when spring approaches :)

MVS Purchases

  • Vintage white fur trim collar sweater
  • 1970s Navy sailor dress with gold anchor buttons
  • 1950s Blue floral summer dress
  • Vintage black & white striped dress

UPDATE! New chapter in my life

Hello bloggers! It has been way too long since my last blog post. A lot has happened and I've been either too tired or busy to take the time to write in here. I seriously miss posting blog entries and I need to do this more often, because I honestly miss it ;T Anyway, what is new with me? Well, after applying to millions of jobs online & going to several interviews at different places, surprisingly, I finally found one within this recession! I started a new career in visual merchandising, which was my major in college and I have been working for over a month now & it's a lot of fun & tiring at the same time. I am thankful & grateful for starting this new chapter in my life especially after the struggle I had to go through with being laid off due to downsizing in my previous job. Things are starting to brighten up and I would like to thank the Lord for blessing me with my family, friends & for everything He has given me :)

Of course, I still need to be wise and save money. Well.... I'm *trying* I have worked hard over the past month and decided to treat myself to some vintage goodies haha! Here is one of the items I have treated myself to, purchased at Another Man's Treasure:
Vintage Black & Gold Lion Earrings
(please excuse the dust, the sun kept beaming on it lol)
I am not a huge Hilary Duff fan, but I am a fan of the Gossip Girl show! :) I was watching this week's episode and saw Hilary Duff was wearing earrings (featured in the picture above) that looked similar to the vintage earrings I bought! HAHA! I was surprised to the similarity between my most recent purchase & Duff's earrings. I wonder if her earrings are vintage or they were inspired by a pair of vintage earrings, perhaps mine? Who knows? However, the lion & black drop of the earring are more wide & look different. If anyone knows if her earrings are vintage or not, please let me know. I am very interested. lol

Fashion's Night Out 9.10.09

Two weeks ago it was Fashion's Night Out in New York. I know, I know, I'm late in posting a blog entry, but of course I have been pretty busy. So it's never too late to post an entry of what I did that night. :) I invited my friends to come with me to Betsey Johnson for Fashion's Night Out. We were able to be first in line to get inside. At the Betsey Johnson store on Wooster Street in Soho, we received free gift bags as well as getting our make up done & hair styled for free :P It was so much fun! We walked around the store checking out the collection and of course I wanted EVERYTHING! `sigh someday hehehe

Here's a photo of the party inside the store.
I got my hair & make up styled that night. However, the hair stylist had to quickly style my hair because he had another event to go to in 20 minutes. I asked for a pin up style, and he did what he could within 10 minutes LOL! I wonder what he would have done if he had more time :T
Here's a picture of my eye make up and all of my make up is done courtesy of STILA Apparently, the make up artist told me blue eye shadow is really popular for spring.

Guggenheim

On Monday, I went to the Guggenheim Museum in NYC with my boyfriend because I got free passes from my friend and it expired on that same day, so I made sure we went so we didn't have to pay the entrance fee. haha! We were so excited once we got there. However, we were only allowed to look at levels 2-4 and the other levels were closed because they were installing new expos as well as repainting the walls & ceilings =| We couldn't even walk on the cool spiral ramp. Oh well, I guess we'll have to do it again some other time. I did have fun listening to the audio tour with the headphone set that were handed to us so we can learn more about the artwork we were looking at. Overall it was a fun day with PC hehe! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
