MVS Purchases & Dream Bike

Well I finally got around to taking photos of my purchases from the Manhattan Vintage Show. :)  I was so excited when I got there, it was a first for me to stand on line to get into the show 10 minutes before it opened.  I had so much fun, I felt like a kid in a candy store!  The show was from 1-8 and I shopped for 5 hours and ended up purchasing 3 items, go figure haha  If you've ever been to the show, it's a bit overwhelming and I only took a break to eat my snack, but it's like walking in a museum for hours and instead I'm adoring all of the beautiful vintage goodies before my eyes.  Here are photos of my purchases:

front & back picture:

1950s Sheer Pink Dress with floral embroidery:  I absolutely love this dress and I got so many compliments when I was trying it on in the fitting room, so of course I had to get it!  :)

Vintage Peach Nightslip to go underneath the dress above and a 1950s Skirt

One of my favorite vintage vendors wasn't at this show for this month but will be in the next show in October.  I was able to shop at my favorite booths & found a few other vintage stores that were affordable & had many items that were just my cup of tea.  I bought the slip & the fifties dress from a vintage store from Canada and I am going to keep shopping at their booth from now on! :)  I can't believe they've been selling at the show for years and I've never been to their booth because their booth is located near other booths that are really expensive. They were so friendly & had prices that did not give me a heart attack unlike the other booths there LOL!

Since Spring is finally here, well let's just say it's spring & then one day it feels like summer, I've been wanting to purchase my own bicycle.  I really want a cute bicycle with a basket in the front, similar to the bicycle that was featured at the Cynthia Rowley fashion show in Spring 2008.  I love the purple one that's in the back of the pink & white one.  I checked the website and I don't think they're selling it anymore.  Anyway, it costs $600 bucks and that is way too expensive for me.  Hmmm.. maybe I could check out this new bicycle store that just opened downtown or check out some flea markets.  I hope to find my dream bike soon...

Money Saver

Last week my friend & I were walking around the city before we met up with our friend for dinner and stopped by Anthropologie.  When we entered, we saw some accessories and I immediately fell in love with the first two headbands that are featured below :)  I would have purchased both of them but I've been doing my best to save my money for many reasons, especially in this economy.

I love how the first headband is named as "Bow Chiffon Headband" when it's made out of polyester and they're charging $38!  I really want it though HAHA!  The second one is $28 and the other two are $38.  I would love to have a shopping spree at Anthropologie, `sigh someday.  Gosh, I am a sucker for cute accessories, especially if it has a bow on it. :P

Here is another reason why I have been saving my money:

The MANHATTAN VINTAGE SHOW is coming up this Friday & Saturday!!!  Being the vintage junkie I am, I am so excited and have been saving enough money so I can shop till I drop :) I'm pumped because I plan to shop when the doors open exactly at 1pm and I've never been able to do that, EVER!  If you are interested in going to the show, print this invitation above to save $5 off the admission price and click on the link for further details.  I hope you fellow vintage lovers get to shop at this wonderful event, maybe you'll even see me. :)

Atlantic City Trip

My boyfriend uploaded pictures from our trip to Atlantic City and here they are as I promised:

  • Vintage Red Wool Dress (given to me by my dear sister :] )
  • Black Tights, Black Payless Patent Peep Toe Wedges
  • Black Patent Vintage Clutch, Vintage Cocktail Ring, "Chanel" earrings & vintage bow hair comb featured in the picture below

My boyfriend was nice to pose for my blog in his outfit :P  I know he's wearing a vintage tie, button down shirt, cardigan (given to him as a gift from one of our friends), I gave him those jeans for Christmas & his shoes.. well I have no idea where he got those from LOL

Here's a better view of my vintage cocktail ring & my delicious midori sour cocktail ;)

My boyfriend winking at me & being cute as always with his cocktail :)

I thought the bar looked nice at the Continental restaurant at night.

Szechuan Shoe String Fries with spicy mustard sauce.  We ordered this as an appetizer because my brother told me it was good.  However, I forgot he told me this could feed a party of 7 people or more HAHAHA!  So basically, the waiter was walking to us with these fries which could probably be the same size as my head & boyfriend's head combined!  We had to bring the rest back to the hotel & finished the rest the next night HAHA!

My boyfriend's dish:  Seared tuna with mushroom risotto (so yummy!)

Pardon the way my dish looks LOL I started eating my dish almost halfway and realized I forgot to take a picture of it.  It's more appetizing than the way it looks HAHA!  I ordered steak with wasabi mashed potatoes, & bok choy.

We took a picture together when we came back from dinner & browsing through the mall.
Thank you for a lovely trip Pat.  I love you.  :)
