Playing in the snow..

I was finally able to take photos of me wearing this lovely vintage seventies plaid coat I bought a month or two ago in the snow :) That day, my boyfriend kindly took photos of me wearing my simple outfit before I went out to run some errands. I think he'll be behind the camera from now on taking photos of my outfits hehe* Thanks honey! :)

1980s white leaf beaded sweater, Gap jeans, Brown Old Navy boots, H&M braided belt, gold butterfly earrings and orange vintage floral beaded ring

1970s Multi color hooded plaid coat with faux fur on collars and hood

Orange Carolina Amato wool gloves with brown buttons

Cherry Red

I've been M.I.A lately because I have a lot of things on my mind & trying to get things straightened out.  Anyway, here are a couple photos of my most recent outfit from Saturday night.  I went bar hopping with my friends and boyfriend to celebrate with my friend because she passed her nursing exam.  If you read this Jamie, I'm so proud of you & congratulations!! :)

Please excuse how my room looks.  LOL My house was built during the seventies, hence the wooden panels on the walls.  UGH!  There's no point to redecorate my room when I really want to move out and get a place of my own.  However, for now I am still living at home and doing my best to get things back on track so I can be on my own.

outfit for night 1outfit for night
  • 1960s Vintage Gold & Brown Glitter Jacket
  • Forever 21 Scoop Neck T-shirt
  • Gap Jeans (I need to buy a new pair, like NOW! haha)
  • Vintage Brown Flats
  • Vintage Red Quilted Chain Purse
  • Vintage Ring, Gold Pearl Chain Necklace & Bracelet
This will be a quick journal entry but I will have another blog entry possibly this week with some of my most recent purchases.  Gosh, I seriously should not be shopping at a time like this, but I couldn't help it.  Okay, note to self, NO SHOPPING!  `sigh Why me?!  This is so difficult and I hope things will look up, hopefully SOON!

Chick Flicks

For Valentine's Day, my boyfriend was kind enough to watch the Confessions of a Shopaholic movie with me :)  I was afraid that he wouldn't like the movie.  Surprisingly, he really liked the movie despite the girlyness.  I have only read up to Confessions of a Shopaholic goes to Manhattan and the movie was a bit different than the books but I absolutely loved the styling of the wardrobe.  I wish I could have her closet minus the amount of debt she is in.  Overall, I thought the movie was cute, girly & very funny!

I really love her pink macbook.  I wish I got this, but I still love my regular MAC. ;)

My girlfriends called me up the next day to watch He' s just not that into you.  It is definitely a chick flick and I highly recommend this movie for all women to see.  It's so amazing how all of the women in the audience had the same reactions while watching certain parts of the movie HAHA!

Speaking of being a shopaholic,  LOL I recently received this quilted bag in the mail yesterday :)  I always get so excited when I receive things in the mail, it's like giving presents to yourself.  HAHA I have been obsessed with purchasing quilted bags with my friend and this will be added to my collection since I can't afford the price tag of a real CHANEL bag.  `sigh someday, but this will do for now ;P

Here is a video of my boyfriend Patrick singing a Mario Kart Love song that was originally created by some other guy on youtube.  It's a really cute song and I am so proud of Patrick because he has learned the guitar and is learning piano as well.  He has such a lovely voice and I keep urging him to try out for American Idol.  LOL!  However, he is going to graduate this coming May/June and definitely wanted to finish school before pursuing his other dream of becoming a singer :)  Show some love on his youtube page with comments & tell your friends. hehe*  So until then, you can listen to him on his first youtube video below.  I hope you enjoy his singing as much as I do.

Manhattan Vintage Show

About a week ago I worked at the Manhattan Vintage Show with Hala.  We decided to wear these matching floral vintage dresses Hala found.  I'm wearing the shorter version because I'm a shorty HAHA.  It was so much fun to be matching, it was our uniform for the day & we were twins LOL.  Many people had to do a double take while looking at both of us when they came into the booth.  ;)

Hala Vintage
Manhattan Vintage Show

Dana Weiss, stylist & owner of consciousjewelry.com, stopped by Hala's booth & purchased a long black 70s ribbed turtleneck dress.  Weiss looked so pretty in the dress & it definitely made her necklace stand out.  I told her I loved her style & her personality on the television shows she appeared on Style network.  :)  She said I looked familiar and asked if we've met before.  It was my first time meeting her & she probably has seen me several times shopping at the Manhattan Vintage Show since I shop at every show. hehe*

Weiss gave me her business card & I checked out her website.  I absolutely love her jewelry especially this amethyst signature charm bracelet featured below.  Definitely take a look at her eco-conscious, crystal and gem line.  It's absolutely stunning and breath taking :)

My recent purchases:
  • Free People Winter Wonderland Vest:  on sale for $19.95!
  • Free People Solid Harem Cropped Pant:  on sale for $39.95 - These are so comfy to lounge in.
  • Women's Merona Collection Taryn Cap Toe Ballet Flat in both colors in Ivory & Navy:  I absolutely love these flats that I bought from Target!!!  They look like the flats from Chanel ;P

Wants:
  • American Apparel Black Interlock Pencil Skirt:  $32.00
  • Steve Madden Midory Ankle Peep Toe ankle boots:  on sale $69.99 I want them in purple too and I want to try on the khaki colored boots to see how they look on me.

Dinner Date & Movie

Three weeks ago I had dinner with my boyfriend & after that we watched Dark Knight.  Dark Knight is freekin AWESOME!!! hehe I was so proud of Heath Ledger, it's so sad that he passed away at a very young age.  :(  I applaud his performance in the Dark Knight.  I must admit, playing the role of Joker must have been really difficult but he managed to act as a crazy psychopath very well.

Anyways.. here is a picture of my outfit that I wore on my dinner/movie date :)

Summer Bliss ... .. .

- AMT Vintage Summer Dress (My favorite part is the bow in the back :] )
- AMT Vintage Orange Floral Earrings
- AMT Vintage Owl Pendant Necklace
- AMT Vintage Floral Heart Ring
- HALA VINTAGE Basket Handbag
- Afaze Gold Studded T-Strap Wedge Sandals

My boyfriend & I ate at one of our favorite restaurants, T-thai in Hoboken.  The lighting is dim with candle light, cozy and there are tables outside as well if you prefer to eat outside on a beautiful night.  Did I mention the food is delicious?! :)

Dinner with Pat :)

Dinner & Movie with Patrick
After we bought our tickets to watch Dark Knight.  We bumped into one of our high school friends and started talking.  During our conversation some strange woman approached me and started talking to me.  Here is what happened:

Strange Woman: "I need to talk to you."
Me:  "Yeah.  Who are you?"
Strange Woman:  "A very good thing is going to happen to you."
Me:  (realizing .. Oh she's one of those "people" haha) "ummmm...??"
Patrick:  (brings me to his side) "I'm the good thing that happened to her in her life haha!"
Strange Woman:  "You really need to know what it is."
Me:  "Are you going to charge me to know what it is."
Strange Woman: "Yeah..."
Me:  "How much?"
Strange Woman:  "20 bucks"
Me:  (Shocked!) "20 bucks!  We just spent 20 bucks for movie tickets! Are you serious?!"
Strange Woman:  "Okay, 10 bucks."
Patrick:  (looks at me)  "Don't do it."
Me:  (realizing I would never pay 10 or even 20 bucks to pay to know my so called 'future' and knew that she probably would have made it up.  Plus, I'm Catholic and I would not want to go against my beliefs to know what lays ahead of me in the future.  What would be the point of life? Right?)
Me:  "That's OK.   I don't want to know"
Strange Woman:   "You sure?"
Me:  "Yeah."
Strange Woman:  "Okay, well if you change your mind, here's my information."  (hands over her flyer)
Me:  (Takes flyer even though I am going to throw it away)
The lady walks away and we start laughing because we read her flyer and her name is Bujie! AHAHA What a name!  We look at her & she's smoking a cigarette.  Crazy people these days... haha.

I've been really good with my shopping habits.  I have only been spending money on things I need not "want." haha It's been really difficult.  However, I keep reminding myself that I work hard for my money and I really need to save it for things that really matter such as student loans that I will be paying in a couple of months, food! haha, etc..  However, I did take pictures of my purchases during my last few days of shopping like a mad woman haha

Hello my name is Kim...

and i'm a SHOPAHOLIC  (everyone:  hi kim!) ahahaha I have been shopping way too much. lol I have an addiction, I need help.  haha I can't help it, but as of now I really need to stop shopping and save my money.  I have enough clothes as it is.  However, I do need more work clothes... oh boy, that might just have to wait. lol here are pictures of my recent purchases that I have bought over the past couple of weeks:

F21 Purchases:

Betsey Johnson Purchases:
Betsey Johnson was having a big SALE:  Buy one, get one FREE! Obviously, I could not pass up a good bargain. Luckily, my lovely boyfriend purchased one dress & got one free as an early birthday present (THANK YOU HONEY! :])  4 Betsey Johnson dresses & a pair of pink tulip earrings, OH YES!!! :P

AMT Vintage Purchases:

I love how my Hala Vintage eel skin handbag goes perfectly with my heels purchased from AMT.  The heels are very low which are good so I can wear them anytime & I just need to get the inside of the shoes glued down.  :)

Yesterday I watched Hancock with my boyfriend.  There are mixed reviews about this movie but I liked it.  I honestly think it could have been a little bit longer and more action.  Overall, I thought it was funny, emotional and had a lot of action.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had dinner in Hoboken.  Afterwards, I had a craving for a chocolate milkshake so we went to the Frozen Monkey Cafe & bought a large Cookie Crunch Milkshake to share (it's so delicious, definitely worth my $5.45 hehe)

Look it's Ken & Barbie's house (they're divorced now hahaha, this is located in Edgewaters)

Ladies Night Out

Yesterday, I finally watched Sex and the City last night with my friends.  I give this movie TWO THUMBS UP! :)  This is the perfect movie to watch with your girlfriends.  It made me laugh, tear, smile and of course, I adored the beautiful styling of Patricia Field.  I envy Carrie Bradshaw's closet, it was so funny how everyone in the movie theatre gasped at her new closet hehe  Someday, I am hoping to get a closet like hers, because as of now, I am hanging my tops & blouses on the back of my chair, it's pretty sad, I know. :\  haha.  You think I would have enough room for my clothes but NO, I have two TINY closets that cannot store all of my clothes. ugh.  While purchasing my movie ticket, read this conversation between me & the cashier:
Me:  "Hi, Sex and the City  at 7:30 please."
Cashier:  (looks at me w/ a innocent look on her face after listening to my voice) "You know this movie is rated R, right?"
Me:  "Yes, I know it is and.... ?"
Cashier:  "I need to see some ID."
Me:  "Alright..." (annoyed)
Cashier:  "I'm sorry you look like you're under 17"
Me:  (handing ID) "I'm 21, I get it all the time.." (still annoyed)
Cashier:  "It's alright, it's better to look young, right?"  (looking at my ID)  "oh okay, here's your ticket.."
I cannot believe I got carded, I guess it's because of my voice and do I seriously look like I'm under 17 years old?  I don't mind looking young, but a situation like this should happen when I'm older and when I want to look & feel young. HAHA

After the movie, my friends and I were walking out of the theatre and I saw Kevin, from Project Runway coming out of the bank. LOL My friend was so excited when I told her and when he saw us, I could tell he did not want to be bothered by a bunch of groupies like us. ahahaha but it was fun to see a Project Runway designer for a few quick seconds. ;P

Now that I am officially done with school, looking for jobs and whatnot, I have time to write in a blog & post pictures of my outfits :)  With that said, here are some pictures of my recent outfit that I wore to a bar with my girlfriends on Thursday night:
Sorry about the quality of the pictures, they came out a little blurry b/c I kept trying to do it with no flash & whatnot...

What I'm wearing:
  • 1960s Vintage Striped Top
  • Levis Jeans
  • Mossimo Black Patent Leather Peep Toe Wooden Heels
  • Vintage Red,Black & Gold Earrings
  • Vintage Black Leather Clutch
  • Vintage Gold & Black Ring & Bangle
  • F21 Black Leather & Gold Chain Bracelet
  • ALDO Accessories Gold Chain Ring
Here are some other pictures of my Ladies Night Out, I had so much fun :)

We had an entertaining night.  Let's just say I pretended my name was Sasha, and this guy actually believed me. Silly men, they think they can get a girl by sending a large glass bottle of water, how cheap can you be? HAHA At least the other guy got us drinks, but what about the bruschetta, we're hungry girls! ;P Spending time with the ladies is always fun, you never know what will happen hehe* :)
