M.I.A.

I haven't written in here for practically 2 months.  I miss writing in here, but I've been so busy with work & whatnot that I'm too tired to update this thing.  Finally, I found time to write in my blog :)

In late August/early September, my friend Tiff and I hungout after I got out of work.  First we stopped by Pinkberry & it was our first time eating yogurt there.  Luckily, I got free yogurt (featured on the right w/ oreo cookie crumbs) because the customer before me wanted white chocolate chips and it had dark chocolate chips.  Therefore, I got a free one because they didn't want it to go to waste which equals good & bad.  It was good because it was free & yummy, I mean who doesn't like free food.  It was bad because I had a sore throat that day and I knew I shouldn't have eaten it because I knew it would make it worse and I ended up being sick the whole weekend after that.  Oh well, it was worth it, because it was delicious! HAH!

Afterwards, we took the subway uptown and it was the last day to view the bronze statues of the Hello Kitty Characters created by Tom Sach.  I was like a little girl when we got there, I took so many pictures of Hello Kitty!  I love Hello Kitty and I am not ashamed to say that at all! AHAHA She's my homegirl ;P  Here are some of the pictures that we took while we were there:

I am going to update this more, I miss writing in here.  I need to find more downtime for myself to relax and write in here more often. ahhh! the crazy world we live in today! haha

Until next time...

Get hip, get green

As much as I love the weather that we've been having since the beginning of August, it scares me, because August is supposed to be the hottest month of the summer and this sort of weather only occurs during Spring.  Global warming frightens me and I do everything I can to help protect our planet.  Here is a list of things that I do to save the environment:
  • Reduce, reuse, RECYCLE everything
  • Vintage Shopping (LOVE IT! ;P)
  • Unplug appliances & lights when not in use before I leave my house
  • Bring my "Get hip, Get Green" bag & other organic bags with me whenever I go shopping
  • I never leave the water running while brushing my teeth & I leave it off while washing my face with soap & then turn it back on when I have to rinse my face
  • I commute everyday by using the train, so I rarely drive which means I don't pollute the air with gas (plus, I don't have to worry about the ridiculous gas prices haha!)
  • When my boyfriend isn't driving his car, we drive his parents' car at times which is a Hybrid :)
I've been meaning to purchase energy light bulbs and my own recycling can for my room rather than going to the recycling can outside all the time ugh. haha

I am so excited for the fall weather to occur because I am sick of mosquitoes and I love the cold brisk of air.  However, I have been doing my best not to shop, but I really do need clothes for the fall weather that will be arriving, it's so hard to resist shopping, I'm addicted and of course the vintage junkie that I am,  purchased only 2 items at a good price.  I'm saving the environment aren't I?  HAHA!

I purchased a vintage lambswool cardigan with black lace.  I absolutely adore this sweater it has adorable rhinestone buttons, beautiful collar details and lace in the front and back!  The picture does no justice, but I promise you it is beautiful and it's not too clingy or too baggy.  Plus, I can push the sleeves up to make it look like it's a 3/4 sleeve cardigan.  loving it! :)

I am excited to wear these vintage eyeglasses (Made in France) with the cardigans I've purchased in the past and other cute outfits for fall. :)  I wear them with my contacts because I think I would look like a nerd if I made them into prescription eyeglasses.  However, I am a book worm and I think these eyeglasses are so cute :)

I'll end this entry with some nice eye candy:  Orlando Bloom.  He is HOT! HOT! HOT! Thanks for the pictures Leah! ahahaha

Dinner Date & Movie

Three weeks ago I had dinner with my boyfriend & after that we watched Dark Knight.  Dark Knight is freekin AWESOME!!! hehe I was so proud of Heath Ledger, it's so sad that he passed away at a very young age.  :(  I applaud his performance in the Dark Knight.  I must admit, playing the role of Joker must have been really difficult but he managed to act as a crazy psychopath very well.

Anyways.. here is a picture of my outfit that I wore on my dinner/movie date :)

Summer Bliss ... .. .

- AMT Vintage Summer Dress (My favorite part is the bow in the back :] )
- AMT Vintage Orange Floral Earrings
- AMT Vintage Owl Pendant Necklace
- AMT Vintage Floral Heart Ring
- HALA VINTAGE Basket Handbag
- Afaze Gold Studded T-Strap Wedge Sandals

My boyfriend & I ate at one of our favorite restaurants, T-thai in Hoboken.  The lighting is dim with candle light, cozy and there are tables outside as well if you prefer to eat outside on a beautiful night.  Did I mention the food is delicious?! :)

Dinner with Pat :)

Dinner & Movie with Patrick
After we bought our tickets to watch Dark Knight.  We bumped into one of our high school friends and started talking.  During our conversation some strange woman approached me and started talking to me.  Here is what happened:

Strange Woman: "I need to talk to you."
Me:  "Yeah.  Who are you?"
Strange Woman:  "A very good thing is going to happen to you."
Me:  (realizing .. Oh she's one of those "people" haha) "ummmm...??"
Patrick:  (brings me to his side) "I'm the good thing that happened to her in her life haha!"
Strange Woman:  "You really need to know what it is."
Me:  "Are you going to charge me to know what it is."
Strange Woman: "Yeah..."
Me:  "How much?"
Strange Woman:  "20 bucks"
Me:  (Shocked!) "20 bucks!  We just spent 20 bucks for movie tickets! Are you serious?!"
Strange Woman:  "Okay, 10 bucks."
Patrick:  (looks at me)  "Don't do it."
Me:  (realizing I would never pay 10 or even 20 bucks to pay to know my so called 'future' and knew that she probably would have made it up.  Plus, I'm Catholic and I would not want to go against my beliefs to know what lays ahead of me in the future.  What would be the point of life? Right?)
Me:  "That's OK.   I don't want to know"
Strange Woman:   "You sure?"
Me:  "Yeah."
Strange Woman:  "Okay, well if you change your mind, here's my information."  (hands over her flyer)
Me:  (Takes flyer even though I am going to throw it away)
The lady walks away and we start laughing because we read her flyer and her name is Bujie! AHAHA What a name!  We look at her & she's smoking a cigarette.  Crazy people these days... haha.

I've been really good with my shopping habits.  I have only been spending money on things I need not "want." haha It's been really difficult.  However, I keep reminding myself that I work hard for my money and I really need to save it for things that really matter such as student loans that I will be paying in a couple of months, food! haha, etc..  However, I did take pictures of my purchases during my last few days of shopping like a mad woman haha
